Eye Area Treatments

Surgery of the upper and lower eyelids can be performed together or separately.

The eye area is the part of our face that receives the most attention during human interactions. With eyelid surgery, this is the area we are targeting. This is where the signs of aging first appear, so it is especially important to properly take care of this area and keep it youthful. As time goes by, the skin around the eyes continues to become more and more thin, connective tissue loosens resulting in the stretching, wrinkling, and sagging of the eyelid skin, which often not only poses an aesthetic problem, but can also disturb your vision. These problems can be easily solved with eyelid surgery, which, although considered to be the smallest form of plastic surgery, comes with the greatest results.

Eyebrow and eyelid surgery does not pose a great physical strain on the patient, none the less it can still achieve a spectacular, eye-catching, youthful effect. To choose the right intervention, consultation with the surgical specialist is necessary in order to determine whether a small part of the skin should be removed from the eyelids, or whether lifting the eyebrows may be sufficient. Surgeries do not take more than 1-1.5 hours in either case and can usually be performed under local anesthesia (also under general anesthesia if needed). The result of the surgeries are age- and skin-dependent, but there are a number of other factors that can influence the outcome.

Upper eyelid surgery
• The smallest plastic surgery intervention,
• makes the eye look larger and the eye area younger,
• offers spectacular results

During the operation, excess skin tissue is removed from the upper eyelid by skin extraction, as a result of which the remaining skin becomes firm. In the consultation before the surgery, the amount of skin to be removed is decided together by the patient and the doctor. The procedure is done under local anesthesia, it is completely painless and takes only about an hour.

Lower eyelid surgery
• Spectacular rejuvenation of the eye area,
• long-lasting result.

During lower eyelid surgery, we only recommend removing the skin folds which have been elongated due to emerging larger skin folds, wrinkles, or bags under the eyes. In this case, once under local anesthesia, an incision is made on the skin at the base of the eyelashes, allowing excess skin to be cut out for an aesthetic end result. If necessary, the "bags" caused by fat hernia, excess fatty tissue will also be removed. This makes the eye area look years younger, and the intervention also slows down the aging process.

After the operation, the suture is covered with thin adhesive strips, suture removal is usually possible on the 5th day after surgery. You should expect swelling and discoloration in the eye area within the 2 weeks after surgery. If this is an inconvenience, you can easily hide it with sunglasses, and you can also apply make-up to the area a few days after the suture removal. It is important to follow the doctor's instructions, avoid lifting heavy weights, intense physical strain, bending down. Exercising is contraindicated for at least 2 weeks, wearing dark sunglasses is recommended for 2 weeks.
