What do you need to know about implants?

Breast implants differ in shape, size, and surface design. There is a wide range of implants available at your disposal, allowing you to choose the most suitable implant for your needs, physique, and individual characteristics. Of course, during the preliminary consultation, our patients will receive the appropriate help from our specialists in choosing the implant. Thus, after the intervention, the new exterior will provide our patients with a complete sense of comfort.

The walls of the implants are made up of a strong silicone shell and are usually filled with a cohesive silicone gel. Thanks to their soft consistency, to the touch they feel just like that of a woman's breasts. One of the advantages of the cohesive gel is that it does not leak out of the casing if the outer shell of the implant were to be damaged.

The surface of the implant can be completely smooth, rough, or textured. We prefer using those which have a microtextured or nanotextured surface. After the implant is inserted, the body creates a capsule around the foreign material, which in most cases remains soft, but there is a small percentage risk of it hardening, which can cause complaints.

The shape of the implant can be round or droplet-shaped, so-called anatomical design. The difference between the two is due to the fact that the droplet-shaped implants are more similar to the natural shape of the breast, but if it dislocates, the shape of the breast will become uneven. A well-chosen implant during breast augmentation is a guarantee for lasting satisfaction in the future.

How is breast augmentation with implants done?

The intervention is carried out at our health center located on the Pest side of Budapest. This is a daylong surgical operation, and since it is performed under general anesthesia, the patient is not allowed to leave our health center until the day after the operation. Before surgery, lab tests, ECG, breast ultrasound and, if over the age of 40, a mammography is required. The implant is usually inserted from an incision made in the fold under the breast, but it is also possible to insert it from an incision made in the armpits or around the areola. The implant can be placed under the gland or under the muscle as well. The method of insertion is individually tailored and is decided during the consultation prior to surgery.
