When is the thigh lift suggested?

Thigh lift is carried out when the skin of the thigh starts to sag due to significant weight changes or sagging, loose connective tissue, which is the result of the aging process. Unfortunately, even with regular exercise and targeted exercise, it is impossible to get rid of the hanging skin, because the exercises only tighten the muscles, not the loosened skin tissue and connective tissue. With the thigh lift, however, this problem can be solved easily and effectively.
During the thigh lift, the loose skin on the outer and inner thighs is removed, along with any adipose tissue that may have accumulated there. As a result, the thighs will once again be beautiful, tight, toned, and proportional to the physique, giving you a more youthful appearance.

Course of the surgery

During the consultation preceding the intervention, our plastic surgeon will assess the severity of the problem and inform you about the possible methods of surgery as well as the achievable results. During the consultation, the most appropriate surgical technique will be selected according to the expectations and individual characteristics.

Prior to the thigh lift, lab tests are carried out, and, if under the age of 40, a chest X-ray is also required for the surgery done under general anesthesia. The intervention is done under general anesthesia and usually takes 2-3 hours.

During the operation, if necessary, excess adipose tissue is removed, after which the loose skin tissue is cut out. In the case of the thigh lift, the incision is carried out in a place less visible on the inside of the thigh or in the knee pit, causing a visible thin scar line, but this fades over time.

The time period after surgery

Immediately after the thigh lift, we will hand out a compression garment, which must be worn for 4-6 weeks. A thin suction tube is placed under the skin, which drains the formed discharge – this is taken out after 1-2 days. After the operation, it is usually necessary to spend 1 night at the clinic. A check-up will take place after one week, the removal of the sutures is carried out after 2 and 3 weeks. If you have an office job, you can return to working in about 2 weeks, but you should avoid doing sports for 8 weeks. After that, you can gradually return to your everyday life and movements.
